Suicide Prevention Program Overview

The Suicide Prevention Program is informed by the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress’ STARRS (Study to Assess Risk and Resilience in Service Members) study and translates science into actionable, evidence-based resources for military and non-military populations to reduce suicidal behavior and promote protective environments.

Suicide Prevention Program Objectives:

  • Collaborate with military and non-military communities to address suicide and related risk factors
  • Leverage existing promising practices and data-informed interventions to enhance synergy of effort
  • Develop and support data-informed practices, tools, and resources for pre-, during, and post-suicide event
  • Ensure development for, dissemination to, and evaluation of at-risk and hard-to-reach populations

Our audience includes, but is not limited to: military service members, families and children, first responders and emergency workers, healthcare workers, and community leaders. Our supported products will include creation of podcasts, videos, training sessions, health education programs, infographics and fact sheets to name a few.
