Robin G. Sontheimer serves as a Behavioral Health Consultant for National Guard programs supported by the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). She previously served as Director of Psychological Health for the Texas Military Department, where she provided statewide oversight of psychological health programs in support of the Texas Army National Guard, Air National Guard, and State Guard.
Robin has more than 17 years of experience in social work practice and leadership across federal, state, and community settings, including the Federal Bureau of Prisons, inpatient psychiatric care, healthcare for individuals experiencing homelessness, and child protective services.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Azusa Pacific University, a Master of Social Work from Nazareth University, and a Doctorate in Social Work from Tulane University. Her scholarly interests include resilience among survivors of interpersonal violence, suicide prevention, and National Guard psychological health. Her professional credentials include Licensed Clinical Social Worker–Supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Certified Group Psychotherapist, Certified Acudetox Specialist, Animal-Assisted Therapist, and Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work.
