Dr. Olivia Ashley is a Prevention Scientist at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS), Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). She has 37 years of experience in primary prevention, program evaluation, evidence-based training best practices, technical assistance, project management, and working with military populations. Dr. Ashley’s substantive expertise includes suicide prevention, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child maltreatment, substance abuse, mental health, help-seeking, financial literacy, passive leadership, and targeted violence prevention. She has expertise conducting epidemiological, etiological, formative, and qualitative research and developing and adapting evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions, including for military populations. Dr. Ashley has published articles and book chapters and given numerous presentations on applied research topics. She has a Dr.P.H. in Health Behavior and Health Education, a MS in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a BA in Psychology, all from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
