Dr. Elizabeth Greene graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2002 and completed a combined residency in Psychiatry and Family Medicine through the National Capital Consortium in 2007. She maintains board certification in both specialties. She served in the United States Air Force for nine years, deploying in 2008 to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. During her time in the Air Force she served as a residency faculty member at Wilford Hall Medical Center/ University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) Psychiatry Residency program and was Chief of the Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Service at Wilford Hall Medical Center. In 2011, after completing her service commitment to the United States Air Force, she began work as a DoW civilian at A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center (formerly named Fort Belvoir Community Hospital) as a supervising psychiatrist in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Primary Care Integration, and Adult Outpatient Care. She served as the Associate Program Director for the NCC Psychiatry Residency there from 2017-2021 before transitioning to work full time at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in the fall of 2021. She currently serves as the Deputy Vice-Chair for Education in the Department of Psychiatry, the School of Medicine Consultant for Telehealth, and as the site director for the USUHS Psychiatry Clerkship at A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center. Her clinical work is in the Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic at A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center. Throughout her career Dr. Greene has had an interest in education, in clinician mental health and well-being, in psychotherapy and neuroscience, in technology and health, and in integration between behavioral health and primary care.
