Gloria Whaley, PhD is a Child Research Psychologist at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress. Dr. Whaley earned her PhD in both Child Psychology and School Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She completed internships in both school and hospital settings. Her clinical internship and fellowship were completed at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where she provided assessment, consultation, and therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults presenting with a wide variety of disorders. Dr. Whaley has extensive clinical experience working with trauma survivors and working on longitudinal research studies examining the effects of trauma on human development. She is currently working on several projects that investigate risk factors for different types of child neglect experienced in military families, the impacts of deployment and service member combat injury on military children and families, and the effectiveness of interventions designed to help military families deal with combat injury.
