Madeleine is a Research Assistant at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS) for the Suicide Prevention Program (SPP). She graduated from Emory University in May 2021 with a B.A. in Human Health and a minor in Arabic. During her time at Emory, Madeleine worked as a Research Assistant for a PhD candidate completing her dissertation work on the impact of war, conflict, and economic sanctions on food systems, food security, resilience, and physical and mental health in Iraqi Kurdistan. She has a strong interest in how traumatic events impact physical and mental health. Through her position, she hopes to advance her research skills and working knowledge of trauma-informed mental health education and awareness. She hopes to continue her education with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree.
