Alexander Liu is a Center Program Manager at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). He has been with the Center since October 2012, shortly after leaving the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where he was a Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Fellow. Alex graduated in 2011 from San Diego State University (SDSU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology.

Alex’s professional research activities include understanding and examining the bereavement process of service member loss on military families. Other areas of interest include examining current military mental health programs and initiatives and their relationship with health outcomes, such as incidence in PTSD and suicide rates.

Alex completed his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the George Washington University (GWU) and intends to use the experience and knowledge he has gained at CSTS and at GWU to further his career in military mental health.
