Alexander Liu is a Center Program Manager at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). He has been with the Center since 2012, shortly after leaving the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), where he was a Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Fellow. Alex graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology. He also completed his Master of Public Health degree at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Alex’s professional research activities include understanding and examining the bereavement process of service member loss on military families. Other areas of interest include examining current military mental health programs and initiatives and their relationship with health outcomes, such as incidence in PTSD and suicide rates.
