Abeer is a Research Assistant at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in May 2019 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Art Studio. At Mount Holyoke, Abeer conducted research under Dr. Katherine C. Haydon on projects related to attachment theory, relationship conflict, and emotion regulation. She was a research assistant at the Einstein Lab at the University of Toronto where the relationship between estrogens and cognition in BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers following prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomy was studied. At CSTS, Abeer hopes to learn about military mental health and develop her research skills. She plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
