Nikki Benevides is the Assistant to the Director & Scientific Program Coordinator at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, and has been with the organization since May 2009. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Honors Psychology from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada in June 2006. While at McMaster she completed an internship at Banyan Community Services, helping to evaluate the Center’s Youth Justice Intervention Program. She also completed a practicum analyzing the teaching methods at the Behavior Institute, Children’s College for children with Autism.

Nikki received a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from Marymount University in Virginia in May 2009. While at Marymount she completed an internship at the Northern Virginia Office of the Capital Defender, assisting in mitigation investigation for indigent defendants charged with capital murder. While at Marymount she was also inducted into the National Scholastic Honor Society, Delta Epsilon Sigma.

Nikki’s professional interests include research and treatment of sexual offenders, as well as forensic assessment.
